Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly changing the way that humans interact with computers. Technologies like ChatGPT and Github Copilot are enabling a new type of human-computer co-creativity where the human and computer work together on a shared creative product. My research investigates the user experience of these novel co-creative AI systems and works to develop a new technique for modeling human-computer interaction dynamics in the domain of co-creative AI.

In my work, I design co-creative systems and empirically investigate their impact on the user's creative experience. In particular, my work develops cognitive models of the sense-making processes users engage in as they interact with co-creative agents, and the interaction dynamics between the user and agent. These interaction models can be used to identify trends and patterns in interaction to help understand co-creativity and design more intelligent co-creative systems.
